Top tips on how to use patches

1

Remove patch from backing paper by gently rubbing its edge (not corner) up with the pad (not nail) of your finger/thumb. If the backing paper is coming off with the patch, try again on a different edge.

2

Apply patch to an area of clean, lotion free skin, with little or no hair. Applying over lotioned skin can prevent absorption.

3

Ensure skin is at full stretch if applying to a mobile area. Many prefer the thigh or upper arm.

4

Patch is NOT waterproof.

5

Remove after around 8 hours, mild irritation can be caused to sensitive skin if worn longer.

6

Can be worn day or night (B12 Plus and Endurance Max shouldn’t be worn at night as too energising).

7

Please note the Sun Away patches are not a replacement for sun screen.

8

Numerous patches can be worn at one time. It may help to vary their placement position.

9

Sensitive to supplements? Cut patch into ½ or ⅓ and build up to a whole. Additional micropore tape will help keep cut down patches in place.

10

Heat and applying to previously lotioned skin can increase the stickiness of the patches.

Vitamin patches are an alternative to oral vitamins and supplements. Instead of swallowing a pill, you stick a small patch on your skin. The vitamins are delivered into your blood stream via the skin. They are used daily and should be worn for a minimum of 8 hours.

Vitamin patches are easier to use and also easier to remember than pills. Simply stick them to your skin when you’re getting ready in the morning, or at night before bed.

They use the skin to deliver the nutrients into the bloodstream, whereas pills deliver nutrients via the gut and liver. This means less nutrients reach the bloodstream as they’re broken down in the gut and liver. This is known as the  first pass effect, read more about it here.

Patches also deliver nutrients slowly, instead of in one large dose. It is easier for our bodies to utilise vitamins if they’re delivered slowly. This is very important for water soluble vitamins such as Vitamin B complex and Vitamin C, as larger doses are easily excreted in urine.

B12 patches are one of the best ways to boost your levels of B12. As B12 is water soluble, larger doses are easily excreted via the urine, meaning much of the dose is wasted. The slow release delivery of patch technology means your body can easily utilise the B12, resulting in little to no waste.

We have customers who have successfully switched from injecting B12 to using patches instead.

You can find all our B12 products here.

Our patches use the Methylcobalamin form of B12.
